An estimate, not a quote. How we work it out

Foremost doesn't post fixed rates. The quote you get is built around your particular boat, but the details here show what's on offer and which discounts could bring the price down.
Which boats Foremost covers
According to Foremost, it insures nearly any watercraft. That covers:
- Fishing and bass boats
- Runabouts and performance boats
- Sailboats
- Classic boats
- Cruisers
- Pontoons
PWCs are covered too. A PWC, short for personal watercraft, is a small vessel you sit on top of instead of inside, think of a Jet Ski.
Foremost's plus and elite packages
There are two more complete packages from Foremost, known as Plus and Elite. Each one comes with total loss replacement cost. In plain terms, if your boat is a total wreck, the payment reflects the cost of a replacement rather than the reduced value after years of use.
Both Plus and Elite throw in some added benefits:
- Diminishing deductible, so the portion you pay out of pocket on a claim may shrink as time passes
- Pollution liability
- Hurricane haul-out, which covers some of the cost of lifting your boat from the water ahead of an approaching hurricane
- Coverage for your boat lift
- Trip interruption benefits
- Protection for pets
Towing and emergency help afloat
Towing and assistance come built into Foremost's packages. If you carry the Elite package, Foremost will pay as much as $250 toward gas and oil when you need a hand while out boating.
Optional add-On coverage
If you'd like wider protection, two extra choices exist. Uninsured watercraft coverage steps in when an uninsured person damages your boat or injures you. Medical payments coverage takes care of medical costs following an accident aboard your boat. Both appear on Foremost's boat page.
Does coverage stop in the winter?
No. Your policy lasts twelve months, and coverage remains active through the off-season. Protection continues while your boat is in storage just as it does when you're out using it.
Getting a Foremost quote
There are two routes to a price. Work with a local licensed agent, or submit a request through the website. Foremost responds to web quote requests by email within 2 to 3 business days, so give yourself a few days of lead time before your coverage needs to start.
